Delete your MarginLens account or data

You can remove individual items in MarginLens or delete the whole account. You can also contact Focalward LLC without reinstalling the app.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open MarginLens and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  2. Open Account and find the Account and cloud data section.
  3. Choose “Delete account and cloud data,” read the warning, and confirm “Delete account.”

This permanently removes the sign-in account and its active account cloud records, including My Items, saved analyses, sourcing sessions, uploaded item photos and thumbnails, pending uploads, Scene Studio sets and kept images, plan and credit records, and content reports. The limited operational and recovery records described below can remain. Cloud cleanup must succeed before the sign-in identity is deleted. If deletion fails, follow the error message and retry; a failed attempt may have removed some data already.

After cloud deletion succeeds, the app attempts to clear its current analysis, captured queue photos, unfinished Quick Capture and Scout work, local listing drafts, publication receipts, preferences, appearance and remembered approvals on this device. Other devices can still hold local work or exported copies; review those separately. If the app reports a local-cleanup error, contact support; the cloud account may already be deleted. This action cannot be undone.

Remove just an item or photo

In My Items, open the item editor and choose “Remove item.” This removes the item, its attached photos and thumbnails, and Scene Studio sets created from that saved item. To keep the item and remove a photo, use that photo’s removal control instead. Independent Scene sets created from an analysis can remain after item or photo removal; remove those sets separately in Scene Studio.

“Remove capture” in Review queue removes that device-local capture and its photos. It does not remove an already saved My Items record. For ordinary account work it does not cancel an accepted cloud analysis; guest removal also requests cleanup of that temporary cloud work. Saved items and attached photos have no automatic expiry; they remain until you remove them or delete the account.

Remove temporary guest work

In the approved full-feature store beta, signing in does not automatically import guest work. Save item copies only the result, selected photos and chosen kept Scene set into your account. Use the guest Discard action or Remove capture and read its cleanup disclosure to request removal of that temporary guest work and its cloud media. Discard does not reset the beta allowance or remove an account-saved copy.

Guest-only cloud photos and Scene images expire 30 days from creation, even when kept; guest job metadata follows a 90-day schedule. Cleanup is asynchronous. Account deletion removes account-owned data, not all unimported guest work or pseudonymous eligibility records. Discard guest work before reinstalling: lost local credentials may prevent immediate recovery, although fixed cloud expiry still applies. Unsaved drafts are not guaranteed to survive reinstall or transfer between devices.

Records that can remain

A minimal former account identifier and deletion marker remain to prevent later billing notifications from recreating deleted records or issuing duplicate credits. This marker does not contain your email, photos, analyses or purchase details. Provider usage and cost receipts, including analysis references and processing metadata, can remain for their 90-day schedule. Operational logs generally expire after one month; staff audit records can remain for one year, and database recovery copies can retain earlier records for up to 35 days. Scheduled cleanup is asynchronous.

Optional beta website feedback is stored separately from your app account and is not automatically removed by in-app account deletion. Contact support to request deletion of a report or its attachments. Exported copies and data held by AI providers, app stores or other independent services may need separate deletion under their policies.

Retention and subscriptions

Backups, security records, provider records, or legally required records may remain for their applicable retention periods. See the privacy policy for the configured schedules. We will explain any required retention that affects your request. Account deletion does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription. Manage cancellation through Google Play or Apple separately. Purchases remain linked to the original MarginLens account and do not automatically transfer to a new account. Contact support before deleting an account with an active subscription or unused credits.
